Baums (http://www.baumslab.org/, @ilianabaums) and Fisher(http://www.personal.psu.edu/crf2/) labs at Pennsylvania State University arelooking for a postdoctoral researcher to work on coral symbiosis and molecularecology as part of our research focus on the effects of natural andanthropogenic oil and gas inputs on the Gulf of Mexico deep coral ecosystem(http://www.ecogig.org).

Requirements

The successful candidate will combine ecological and genomics approachesto study how coral interact with microbes and their environment. A backgroundin bioinformatics with experience in microbiome sequencing and analysis and/orecological modeling is desirable. Programming skills including UNIX/LINUX and Rare a plus as is experience in ocean-going research. The candidate must have aPhD in bioinformatics, evolution, marine biology, molecular ecology or relatedfields. The candidate will join an internationally renowned bioinformaticsprogram
