美国密歇根理工大学推出失效专利搜索工具
密歇根理工大学（Michigan Technological University）开发了一款免费且更容易发现和跟踪失效专利的搜索工具。该工具的合作开发人员Joshua Pearce指出，在20年保护期届满前近一半专利会失效，这为寻找技术灵感的创新者提供了重要机会。为了实现这一目标，新专利搜索工具每周利用美国专利数据库跟踪专利法律状态查看专利权人是否续交年费，那些未交年费的失效专利可被公众使用。该搜索工具可在www.freeip.mtu.edu网站免费下载。
