恭喜我校2017届毕业生再添喜讯，获得美国普渡大学西拉法叶录取。根据美国U.S.News 2016年最新排名，普渡大学位列美国第60位。祝贺这位同学获得的成果！

Congrats again to the class of 2017 as one student got an offer from Purdue University – West Lafayette. According to U.S.News 2016, Purdue University ranks at No. 60 among national universities. This is a fantastic achievement!

普渡大学的工程学院可谓是久负盛名，与麻省理工、斯坦福、加州大学伯克利一同位列全美工程学院前十。其学术影响力无论在美国还是全球，都是巨大的！

Purdue University’s College of Engineering is very famous. It has the same level as MIT, Stanford University and UC Berkeley. It is in the top ten engineering schools in the U.S. Its academic influence is very huge in the U.S. and the world.

这位同学能够取得这样的成绩来之不易。虽然他在校内学术表现尚佳，但是标准化考试并没有非常突出。不过他参加许多活动，包括在学校内连续四年参加戏剧社演出，让他在众多申请者中脱颖而出！

It was very tough for this student to get this offer. Although this student’s academic performance is fine at school, his standard test scores were not outstanding. However, this student has participated a lot of activities, including Theater Arts, which he has performed at school for four years. This made him outstanding to the admissions office.

此外，在学校里他保持着较高的GPA成绩，平时上课认真听讲，积极发言。从九年级一入学开始，他每年修八门课；在十一年级的时候，修读美国文学荣誉课程，外加一门AP物理课程；到了十二年级，他也没有松懈，依然学习微积分AB、心理学2门AP课程。课外的时候，他参加了许许多多的实践项目，例如排球队活动、上文提到的戏剧社，还自己创办社团，在“上海我爱你”学生微电影竞赛中脱颖而出！

The student maintains a high GPA at school. He listens in class all the time and raises his hand to answer questions. He has chosen eight courses every year since grade nine. In grade 11, he enrolled in honors American Literature and AP Physics 1. Beyond the class, he joined a lot of activities, including volleyball, Theater Arts, and the Shanghai, Wo Ai Ni student film collective.

It’s very tough to get an offer from Purdue. Purdue University requires writing three supplementary essays. The process is extremely complicated. Due to the help of CUG in our school the student can reach this achievement!
