Can you make a brief introduction of yourself?

My name is Caitlin Hoffmann, and I am an assistant director of international admissions here – the university of vermont.

Can you briefly introduce your university the current situation and any new developments?

大学坐落在佛蒙特州，伯灵顿市。我们是一所研究型公立大学，学校拥有一万多名本科学生和三千多名研究生，我们最近比较注重STEM（科学、技术、工程和数学）领域的发展，UVM刚刚落成了一座新的STEM综合研究大楼。

So the university of Vermont, is located in Burlington, Vermont. We are a public research university with about 10,000 undergraduate students and 3,000 graduate students. Some of our recent developments have been really focusd on STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, math) and we just open the brand new STEM complex.

Can you point out any key selling points of the university and what makes a different and stand out from other schools?

当然，我们在健康预科方向排名前十，同时还是绿色倡议排名前十的大学，支持可持续发展。我觉得这两点比较重要。

Absolutely, So we have been named a top 10 university to study pre-health and we have been named a top 10 university for green initiatives, being sustainable .so I take those 2 things.

And what’s the main management style of the university in the philosophy behind running the school?

我认为，我们的校长非常关注学术卓越，比如，招聘杰出的教职人员和学生，同时也确保每个学生在佛蒙特大学有安全感和归属感。

I would say that our president is really focusd on academic excellences, en, in hiring faculty members, recruiting academically competitive class, as well as making sure that every student here, at the university of Vermont, feel safe and welcomed.

Why do think students choose to come to UVM?

我认为学生选择佛蒙特大学，因为我们在学校学术成就方面在有着很不错的口碑，学生知道如果学生选择这里，他们将会得到其他学校无法提供的机会。

I think students come to UVM because we have a reputation for being academically excellence school and they know if they come here, they will receive opportunities that they will not get at other universities.

Can you share any interesting experiences about working in admissions?

The most interesting thing about working in admissions is getting to know the students why applying, their backgrounds, what brought them to the University of Vermont and what really makes them passionate.
