快讯圣母大学历史系两场有关中国的学术会议

10月25日至26日，由圣母大学历史系助理教授、中国思想史学者蔡亮博士与圣母大学古典系访问助理教授 Randolph Ford 博士组织举办的国际学术研讨会“早期帝国的权力运作：中国与其他文明的对话”将在圣母大学举行。

此次会议着重于比较研究欧亚大陆的古代帝国，尤以对比中国和罗马为主。其主题涵盖“理念”的权力、“亡者”的权力、“叙事”的权力、“城市空间”的权力、“财富”的权力和“游牧民族”的权力。会议邀请到了来自美国圣母大学、宾夕法尼亚大学、纽约大学、英国剑桥大学、加拿大麦吉尔大学、丹麦哥本哈根大学等世界高等学府的教授参加。

10月26日至28日，另一场与中国有关的学术会议——“出土《诗经》的启示：古文字学、语文学、音韵学和经典阐释学的新章节”——也将在圣母大学举办。来自中国安徽大学的教授们将向中外学者介绍安大在2015年收藏的战国时期楚国的竹简。“安大简”的年代约在公元前400年至公元前350年之间，记载内容涉及史学、经学、哲学、文学等领域，其中包括100多支《诗经》竹简。

此次会议汇聚了来自美国圣母大学、哈佛大学、普林斯顿大学、康奈尔大学、英国牛津大学等学校的中国古文字学、语文学、音韵学、哲学、历史和文化研究等领域的专家。他们将一起解读和分析由安徽大学提供的竹简样张及其意义和价值。
