经济学隶属于Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences，经济学系是其学院最大的系，提供诸多的Major和Minor，并且有4年制的本科+硕士项目。
新闻学
Medill School of Journalism声名在外，由占据着芝加哥得天独厚的优势，所以让西北的新闻学院录取难度极大。新闻专业学生在校学习期间会有大量的身临其境的专业体验，通过专业项目积累未来职场中可用的新闻作品；专业老师引荐校友，获得未来新闻工作中的良师益友。新闻专业学生学习实践的场所丰富，芝加哥新闻室、华盛顿特区新闻室等。新闻专业分杂志写作编辑、播报、视频摄影方向。
心理学
西北的心理学注重分析和数据说明，实用性很强，所以这也是为什么在本科阶段比较受学生欢迎。西北的心理学没有硕士项目，只有Phd，要求申请者本科毕业，不要求心理学专业背景，但建议本科修读过一些心理学课程，不要求科研经验，但需要有独立研究的潜质。
