伦斯勒理工学院(Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute，简称RPI)成立于1824年，校园面积为296英亩。位于美国东北部纽约州的特洛伊（Troy）。小城依山傍水，古朴宁静，紧邻纽约州首府Albany，交通十分便利。伦斯勒理工学院是全美最早的工科大学，二战期间是美国军队的重要研究机构和教育机构。首次把人类送上月球的阿波罗11号计划的总指挥George Low就是毕业于RPI。由于伦斯勒理工学院对美国航天事业的贡献，校旗也成为美国国旗之外唯一被置放在月球上的旗帜，令每一位伦斯勒学生引以为豪。
